Dogs, revered for their acute sense of danger, symbolised protection and guidance. Empu was known as “the Opener of the Ways”, ensuring that the king’s spirit safely reached its eternal destination.

The Hero’s Journey — a timeless narrative found in myths, legends, and modern stories — always features a guide. No hero embarks on their quest alone. From the shadowy tombs of Kemet to the galaxies of Star Wars, the presence of a mentor remains a constant.
